Senior Product Designer · Bharatpur, Nepal

Biraj Paudel

I design calm software for complicated jobs: SaaS dashboards, payments, e-commerce and an AI document platform. Six years in, every idea still starts with a pencil.

Hi, I'm Biraj. I turn messy, complicated products into interfaces that feel calm, from the first sketch to the shipped code.

For six years I've worked with teams in Nepal, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Latin America, moving from brand and visual design into product: research, flows, design systems and the high-fidelity screens that ship. Today I close the gap between Figma and production myself, with React, shadcn/ui and AI-assisted development. Outside client work I draw, and lately I've been building a hand-drawn game.

  • Product design

Research, flows, information architecture and design systems, through to the polished, high-fidelity screens that actually ship.

  • Design to code

React and TypeScript on the web, C++ and Qt on the desktop, Expo for mobile. I prototype in the real thing, with Claude Code as my pair.

  • Art and illustration

Drawing is my first love and where every idea starts. I paint in Procreate and model in Blender, and it shows in everything I design.

01 AI document platform

FynePDF

The product I'm building myself. Every PDF tool you need, plus an AI that edits, redacts, compares and extracts, then shows you exactly what it did.

Role
Founder & product designer
When
2026 to now
Platforms
Web · Desktop (Electron, in development)
Built with
React, shadcn/ui, Claude Code, Codex

FynePDF started with a question: why do PDF tools feel like tax forms? I own all of it: product direction, UX, the design system and the frontend.

The rule I design by: the AI does the work, but you see every step and keep the last word. "Tell Fyne what to do" turns a sentence into a reviewable plan before anything runs.

  • Conversational PDF workflows with steps you approve first
  • 40+ tools and 15 specialist document agents for contracts, resumes, bank statements and medical reports
  • A quiet, warm design system: one blue action per view, and a dashed line that means "a file goes here"
  • Front-end in React and shadcn/ui; desktop app in Electron

02 Cloud telephony SaaS

KrispCall

A cloud phone system for teams that live on calls. I designed the parts people set up once and use every day: the dashboard, integrations, call workflows and the account.

Role
UI/UX designer at Codavatar
When
2020–2021
Product
Cloud telephony SaaS
Also there
TimeTracko, Fenced.ai

Telephony is a forest of settings nobody wants to read. The job: make numbers, agents, IVR menus and CRM sync feel like one calm workspace.

  • Dashboard. Call activity, missed-call recovery and agent status at a glance
  • Integrations. Connect a CRM or helpdesk and watch calls log themselves
  • Workflows. A call-flow builder for IVR menus, business hours and ring groups
  • Account. Numbers in 100+ countries, team roles, credits and billing

03 Side project · art game

OFFICE: 9 to DIE

A hand-drawn, first-person art game I'm making on the side. Friday, 1979: your last day at Perpetual Industries, and the building won't let you leave.

Key art: a tired office worker walks past a giant punch clock in front of the Perpetual Industries tower. Title: OFFICE: 9 to DIE.
Title card · coloured pencil and watercolour

Nobody here is a monster. They've been filed: drained to grey graphite and papered in memos. Every floor is an hour of the same day, and you free them one by one.

I wrote a renderer that redraws the 3D world as an illustration: coloured-pencil lines that boil on twos, watercolour walls and cross-hatched shadows. People are hand-drawn cutouts standing in it.

  • One drawing pass over a G-buffer: lines from depth, normal and material edges
  • Line boil at 12 fps, with an off switch for photosensitive players
  • Ten floors from 9:00 to 4:59, each lit by the hour outside
  • One song per floor; the music opens up as you free people

04 LATAM payments

Rebill

Payment infrastructure for Latin America: local methods, subscriptions and installments behind a single integration.

Role
Product design intern
Market
Latin America
Surfaces
Checkout, payment links, subscriptions

My internship was a crash course in how money moves differently everywhere. Argentina pays in cuotas, Brazil in Pix, Mexico at the OXXO counter.

A good LATAM checkout doesn't translate. It changes shape. Pick a country and watch the same checkout rebuild itself: currency, local methods, installments and language.

  • Checkout and payment-link UI that adapts by country
  • Installment and subscription patterns across markets
  • Learning to design for approval rates, not just aesthetics

06 · 07 E-commerce, Hong Kong

Two shops in Hong Kong

Early in my career I designed two Hong Kong e-commerce sites. Roughly seven years later, both still run on those designs. That's the best review a designer can get.

flannel flowers

Hong Kong's finest florist, from ifc Mall to Times Square. An editorial shop that sells same-day bouquets the way a gallery hangs paintings: big images, quiet type, one decision at a time.

People editing Shorts and Reels on a phone

Most online cutters make you upload, wait in a queue, then put a watermark on the result. ClipCut skips all three.

The editing engine runs on your device, so a clip is ready in seconds and stays private. Every tool is one page and three steps: drop a clip, set the start and end, pick a shape. Try it on the skate clip: keep the trick, go vertical, add a hook.

  • A trim bar sized for thumbs, with Start here and End here to cut on the playhead
  • A crop frame you drag over the video for 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5
  • Instant, lossless cuts by default, with a precise mode when a frame matters
  • A daily trends page that turns what people are searching into a hook you can edit
  • Lemon on deep violet, chunky type and stickers, so it feels like the apps its users already love

Offline, after the first visit

Background removers usually want your photo on their server and your card on file. SleekCut does the work on your device instead.

The design job was making on-device AI feel instant and trustworthy: say what is happening while a model downloads, refine edges against the full-resolution original, and keep every fix one brush stroke and one undo away.

  • Cutouts refined at full resolution, so leaves and hair keep their edges
  • Person and Product modes, because one model can't do both well
  • An Erase and Restore brush with a before and after compare
  • Backgrounds, shadows and every social size in the same panel
